About the festival

Celebrating its 12th year in 2024, the Capricorn Food and Wine Festival has grown to become North Queensland’s largest Food and Wine Festival, and a signature event on the region’s calendar. The Capricorn Food and Wine Festival is an annual celebration of local food, hospitality, music and bespoke culinary events hosted over 4 days in September.

The Capricorn Food and Wine Festival consists of two parts: the Festival Grounds and Signature Events. During a visit to the Festival Grounds, patrons can expect to enjoy a wide variety locally grown produce prepared by pop up restaurants. Festival goers can taste their way through an enticing range of beverages, guided by our artisan winemakers, brewers and producers as they educate and share their product knowledge. There are also cooking demonstrations featuring festival chefs and live music to keep patrons entertained into the evening.

The Festival also hosts over 15 Signature Events across the four days. These events take place both in the Festival Grounds and venues around the region, and include degustation’s, wine masterclasses, cooking demonstrations, cocktail parties and more. The Festival provides a platform to celebrate the region’s burgeoning hospitality, music and tourism scene and attract visitors to the Rockhampton and greater Central Queensland region.
