For 13 years, the Capricorn Food & Wine Festival was one of Central Queensland’s signature events, bringing together local producers, wineries, breweries, restaurants, entertainers and thousands of visitors each September.

What began as a celebration of the region’s food and beverage industry grew into North Queensland’s largest food and wine festival, showcasing the very best of Central Queensland through unforgettable culinary experiences, live entertainment and premium local produce.

The festival featured a vibrant Festival Grounds experience, where visitors could discover pop-up restaurants, sample wines, beers and spirits from artisan producers, enjoy live cooking demonstrations and relax with live entertainment throughout the day and into the evening.

Alongside the Festival Grounds, more than 15 Signature Events were held across the region, including degustation dinners, long lunches, wine masterclasses, cocktail parties and exclusive dining experiences. Together, these events celebrated the region’s thriving hospitality, tourism and events industry while delivering significant economic and community benefits.

After 13 incredible years, the Capricorn Food & Wine Festival is taking a break. We are immensely proud of everything the festival achieved and grateful to the sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, suppliers and patrons who helped make it such a beloved Central Queensland tradition. While this chapter has come to a close, Capricorn Events is excited to continue creating new experiences that bring people together and showcase our region.
